Evidence-Based Education (EBE) signifies the idea that educational policy and practice should be guided by the best evidence about the likely effects of different choices on outcomes we value. This means that specific intervention strategies and policies should be rigorously evaluated before they are advocated or required. Where this is not possible they should be adopted experimentally, in such a way that their impact can be properly evaluated.

This idea builds on the concept of monitoring and self-evaluation, which is at the heart of the main CEM monitoring projects. Teachers and schools who are monitoring their own performance are well placed to evaluate for themselves what works, and so make their practice evidence-based.

System Maintenance

CEM online systems will be unavailable 2nd – 19th January 2020.

We will be carrying out essential maintenance on all CEM online systems from 9am GMT Thursday 2nd - 6pm GMT Sunday 19th January 2020. During this time, you will not be able to access your CEM accounts, assessments and reports.
